Is Alito truly Pro-life?

Below is a conversation I had on the Democrats for life yahoo group regarding the anti-life leanings of Potential Justice Alito.

I have resisted replying specifically to the Alito confirmation. Alito may be against abortion, but as has been written about the other justices, he is only minimally pro-life; his definition seems to be wholly restricted to abortion. We likely will see Alito as a rubber-stamp for the right wing conservatives.

Alito is not a good candidate because he has sided with big business at the expense of individual rights to live peacefully. He has never ruled in favour of a person against a corporation, so far as I have seen. He has also belonged to racist and sexist organizations. He also has ruled against protecting the rights of the individual in cases like discrimination and disability access.

Is Alito truly pro-life? I say NO, firmly no. It is likely that he will be confirmed, and other life issues that are important to americans will suffer as a result.

If we provied the safety net so that abortions could be avoided by supplying nutrition and financial assistance, then we can outlaw it and silence the pro-choice critics.

Being Pro-life means much more than being anti-abortion.
