Pro-Choice Group Won't Back Va. Candidate

It looks as if the gubernatorial election in Virginia will not be so cut and dry for those who restrict their pro-life thinking to just anti-abortion. The story pasted below states that NARAL will not support either major party candidate for governor.

Obviously they do not consider either candidate to be pro-choice. Isn't that a wonderful thing for us pro-life people!

This is a perfect election to recall that being pro-life means much, much, much more than just being anti-abortion.

Homework: which candidate is truly pro-life (opposition to abortion and other assaults on life like capital punishment)? (Hint: the Catholic candidate)

Pro-Choice Group Won't Back Va. Candidate

RICHMOND, Va. - A leading abortion-rights group will not endorse any candidate for Virginia governor, citing concerns the main contenders both accept limits to abortion.

The Democrat, Lt. Gov. Tim Kaine, said he would not work to outlaw abortion but supports "appropriate and reasonable checks" on it. Republican Jerry Kilgore, a former attorney general, opposes abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother.

NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia executive director Ann O'Hanlon said the group could not endorse Kaine because he embraces many restrictions that the group opposes, including parental consent and a ban on a procedure that abortion opponents call "partial-birth abortion.

"The group's statement Tuesday said however that Kaine would be a better alternative than the "extremely anti-choice" Kilgore. The election is Nov.8
